Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo
Walk beneath 33,000 marine animals through a 48-metre acrylic tunnel
Set inside Dubai Mall, the Dubai Aquarium holds a 10-million-litre tank that rises through three floors of the building, home to more than 33,000 marine animals including several species of ray and shark. The tank’s main viewing panel holds the Guinness World Record for the largest acrylic viewing panel of its kind, offering an unobstructed look into the water from the mall’s ground floor.
Through the Tunnel
A 48-metre acrylic tunnel runs beneath the tank, letting visitors walk directly under the fish and rays as they move overhead, with the transparent walls and ceiling giving a close view of the tank’s ecosystem from below. It’s one of the more direct ways to see the scale of the aquarium’s marine life without getting in the water.
The Underwater Zoo
Above the tank, the Underwater Zoo spreads across three themed levels covering the rainforest, rocky shore and living ocean. Exhibits here include King Croc, a crocodile weighing over 750kg, alongside pelagic fish, piranhas and snakes. Penguin Cove, one of the zoo’s dedicated habitats, is home to a colony of Gentoo penguins, giving the overall attraction a mix of aquatic and land-based wildlife within one visit.
