UAE 5-Year Multiple Entry Visa
Visit Dubai and the UAE as often as you like for 5 full years — no sponsor, no host. Apply once instead of before every trip.
What Is the 5-Year Multiple Entry Visa UAE?
First approved by the UAE Cabinet in 2021 and re-clarified by the GDRFA in 2026, it is open to travellers of all nationalities and is built for frequent visitors, business travellers, tourists and people visiting family. It is not a residence or golden visa and does not grant the right to live or work in the UAE; it is purely for repeat visits, and most cost-effective if you visit more than once or twice.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about the UAE 5-year multiple entry visa
How much does the UAE 5-year multiple entry visa cost in total?
From outside the UAE the total is AED 4,813.50 (AED 1,100 service fee + AED 3,713.50 government fee). From inside the UAE it is AED 5,463.50. Both include a refundable AED 3,000 deposit, so your real cost is AED 1,813.50 or AED 2,463.50.
Is the 5-year multiple entry visa the same as the Golden Visa?
No. This is a long-term visit visa for frequent trips. The Golden Visa is a residence visa for living in the UAE — a different product that govr.ae does not process.
What is the difference between the 5-year visa and a 1-year multiple entry visa?
Both allow multiple entries and the same 90-days-per-visit / 180-days-per-year rules. The 5-year visa stays valid for five years, so you apply once instead of renewing every year.
How long can I stay in the UAE per visit?
Up to 90 days per visit, extendable for a similar period, as long as your total time in the UAE does not exceed 180 days per year.
How does the 180-days-per-year limit work?
You may spend a maximum of 180 days inside the UAE per year across all visits. Each visit is capped at 90 days (extendable by up to 90 more). Time outside the country does not count.
Can I extend my stay beyond 90 days?
Yes. Each 90-day stay can be extended for a similar period, provided you stay within the 180-day annual limit.
Do I need a sponsor or host in the UAE?
No. No sponsor and no host inside the UAE are required — the visa is fully self-sponsored and open to all nationalities.
Which nationalities are eligible?
All nationalities can apply. The requirements are the same for everyone: a passport valid for 6+ months, a maintained bank balance of about $4,000, and one recent photo.
Can I work on the 5-year multiple entry visa?
No. It is a tourist / visit visa only and does not grant the right to work in the UAE. For work you need an employment or residence visa.
What documents do I need to apply?
Just three: a passport valid for 6+ months, one recent photo, and a 6-month bank statement showing a maintained balance of about $4,000. Your flight ticket, health insurance and hotel booking are arranged by govr.ae for visa-application purposes only.
Does the $4,000 bank balance need to stay in my account?
Yes — maintained across the full 6-month statement period, not deposited last minute. A sudden deposit can lead to rejection. The money remains yours and is separate from the fees.
What do I pay now, and what later?
You pay the AED 1,100 service fee when applying. It covers application typing & submission plus a flight ticket, health insurance and hotel booking arranged for visa-application purposes only. The government fee (AED 3,713.50 outside / AED 4,363.50 inside, including the refundable AED 3,000 deposit) is paid by you directly to the government before submission.
Is the AED 3,000 deposit refundable, and how do I get it back?
Yes — but it is a government security deposit that you pay directly to the UAE government yourself through the official government payment link, not to govr.ae. It is refunded by the government after you exit the UAE within the visa rules (or if your visa is rejected). Because you submit this deposit to the government directly, govr.ae does not collect, hold or refund it and is not responsible for its return.
Why do 5-year visa applications get rejected?
Common reasons: a balance not maintained across 6 months, a passport under 6 months validity, document mismatches, or a prior overstay. We review your documents before submission to reduce this risk.
Can I apply from outside the UAE?
Yes, from anywhere. The only difference is the government fee — AED 3,713.50 from outside vs AED 4,363.50 from inside the UAE.
Can my family or children get the visa too?
Yes. Each family member applies individually and must meet the same requirements. Multiple applications can be processed together.
Is the 5-year visa worth it compared to single-entry visas?
If you visit more than once or twice, yes — one 5-year visa costs far less than a new single-entry visa for every trip, and you skip the repeat paperwork.
How long does approval take?
Typically around 24–48 hours after submission. Approval is always subject to UAE Immigration.
