UAE Family Visit Visa — Apply Online for the Whole Family

A family with luggage arriving in the UAE, ready for a family visit visa trip

Planning a UAE trip with your spouse, kids, or parents? A UAE family visit visa isn’t a separate visa type. It’s the standard UAE visit visa, applied for each member of your family who is coming along. It covers short visits to see relatives or explore the country, and it needs no UAE sponsor. With govr.ae, you apply for each traveller through the same simple process. Choose 14, 30, or 60-day, single or multiple entry, for each person. You see exactly what each visa costs before you pay. Then we coordinate the whole family’s e-visas and deliver them together.

Is there a separate “family visit visa” for the UAE?

No. The UAE does not issue one combined “family visa” for tourism. What people mean by a family visit visa is simply the regular visit visa, taken out once for each family member travelling.

Get one distinction right, because it decides which process you need. A visit visa is short-term and for touring or visiting, 14 to 60 days with govr.ae. A family residence visa is something else. That is when someone who already lives in the UAE sponsors family members to move there long-term. It runs through a different government process. govr.ae handles visit visas, not residence. The UAE government calls the visit visa a permit to visit a relative or friend, with no local sponsor needed. You can check the official rules at the GDRFA and the ICP. If your family is coming to stay for weeks, not to relocate, the visit visa is what you want.

Which visit visa should your family choose?

For most family trips, the 30-day or 60-day single-entry visa is the right fit. Choose multiple entry only if someone will leave and re-enter the UAE mid-trip, such as a side trip to Oman. Everyone in your group can be on a different visa if their plans differ.

Visa Entry Stay Price (per person)
14-Day Single Up to 14 days $185
30-Day Single Up to 30 days $205
30-Day Multiple Up to 30 days $320
60-Day Single Up to 60 days $325
60-Day Multiple Up to 60 days $390

The popular choices for families are the 30-day visit visa for a standard holiday and the 60-day multiple-entry visa for longer or split trips. GCC residents travelling with family have their own 30-day option at $200. You can compare all UAE visit visa types and prices before you decide. There is no 90-day visit visa; if you need longer, the 60-day visa can be extended (see below).

Family visa pricing: per person and total

Every family member needs their own visa, so the cost is simply the per-person price multiplied by the number of travellers. Each price is the government visa fee plus our service fee. Both are listed at checkout, with no hidden extras.

Here is what a 30-day single-entry trip looks like at current pricing:

  • Family of 2: 2 × $205 = $410
  • Family of 3: 3 × $205 = $615
  • Family of 4: 4 × $205 = $820

Children and infants pay the same per-person fee as adults. Each traveller gets their own e-visa. Mix durations freely: one parent could take a 60-day visa while the rest of the family takes 30-day, and the total simply adds up. The live family total for the exact visas you pick is always shown at checkout before you pay.

How to apply for your whole family

Applying for the family is the same straightforward process, repeated for each traveller, with our team keeping the applications together as one group. You will not juggle scattered confirmations or mismatched timings.

  1. Choose the visa, duration and entry type, for each family member.
  2. Enter each person’s details and upload their passport copy and photo.
  3. Submit each application and complete payment.
  4. Our team reviews every application and coordinates them as a single family group.
  5. We deliver all the approved e-visas together by email, ready to travel.

Because we treat your family as one set, you get a single point of contact and status updates at each step, right up to delivery.

Documents for each family member

Each traveller needs their own documents, whatever their age. For every family member, have ready:

  • A passport valid for at least 6 months from your travel date.
  • A recent passport-style colour photo on a plain background.

Children and infants need their own passport and photo too. A child cannot travel on a parent’s visa. For minors, the authorities may also request a birth certificate and copies of the parents’ passports to confirm the relationship. Getting everyone’s documents together before you start keeps the family application quick and avoids back-and-forth.

Processing time and extensions

Most applications are approved within 1 to 3 working days. If your trip is soon, urgent processing is available within 24 to 48 hours for an extra fee. The authorities check each person separately, so leave a little buffer before you book non-refundable flights.

Need longer than 60 days? A UAE visit visa can be extended twice, adding 30 days each time, without leaving the country, which can stretch a 60-day visa toward a much longer stay. govr.ae customers can arrange this with us directly when the time comes. Here is how to extend your visit visa.

Frequently Asked Question

Is there a separate UAE family visit visa?

No. There is no dedicated “family” visa for tourism. A family visit visa is the standard UAE visit visa, applied for once per travelling family member. It is for short visits, not for a resident sponsoring dependents to live in the UAE long-term.

You apply for each member through the same process, and govr.ae keeps the applications together as one group. We review, coordinate, and deliver all the approved e-visas together, so you manage one family submission instead of chasing separate confirmations.

Yes. Every traveller, including newborns, needs their own visit visa, a passport valid for at least 6 months, and a photo. Children cannot be added to a parent’s visa. For minors, a birth certificate and parents’ passport copies may be requested.

At current 30-day single-entry pricing, four visas cost 4 × $205, which is $820. The exact family total depends on the durations and entry types you choose for each person, and it is shown clearly at checkout before payment.

Yes. Each person can take a different duration or entry type. One traveller might choose a 60-day multiple-entry visa while others take a 30-day single-entry, and we keep every application coordinated within the same family group.

No. A UAE visit visa does not require a local sponsor, and you do not need a relative to formally invite you. You apply directly through govr.ae. The authorities still check each person against the usual entry rules.
